  1.                                                                             VistaScan 3.1 ReadMe

  3. System Requirements
  4.  * System 7.5 or later
  5.  * If you use PhotoShop 3.0 or later, set PhotoShop's preferred memory 
  6.    size to 12MB(68K)/24MB(PPC) or more using the file--Get Info command.
  7.  * If you use VistaScan DA, set VistaScan DA's preferred memory size to 
  8.    6MB or more using File--Get Info command.

  10. Installation Procedures
  11. Make sure PhotoShop is installed first, if you have not yet installed it,
  12. before installing VistaScan.
  13.  
  14. Follow the steps below to install VistaScan:
  15.  
  16.  1. Double-click on the VistaScan Installer icon.
  17.  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install VistaScan.
  18.     Please note that:
  19.     * If you choose Easy Install, the UMAXShare and UMAXChooser won't be 
  20.       installed.
  21.     * When a dialog box prompts you to select the plug-ins folder, select 
  22.       the Plug-ins folder in PhotoShop. The VistaScan plug-in driver 
  23.       should be stored in the folder you select in this dialog box.
  24.  3. After installation, restart your Macintosh.  A new folder containing    
  25.     the VistaScan software is created. To know how to use VistaScan, 
  26.     refer to your VistaScan User's Guide for detailed information.

  28.  Note: If you find the VistaScan plug-in driver is located in the 
  29.         VistaScan 3.0 folder, you need to drag the VistaScan plug-in 
  30.         driver to PhotoShop's Plug-ins folder.

If you experience any problems in reading the Presto PDF manuals please reinstall Acrobat Reader from the Umax CD. Put the CD in your CD-Rom drive, double click on the CD and then double click on the 'Acrobat Reader Install' folder. Inside the folder, double click on the 3.0 folder, the English folder, then the Reader folder and you will need to start the installation by double clicking on Install Acrobat reader 3.0.
